This article could raise very valid points but I refuse to read it because that title is clickbait at it's worst and only serves anti-feminists who wish to portray feminism as a bunch of man hating.

Okay, I caved and read it and it actually made some valid points but that title is fucking terrible, Seriously, if you want anyone outside of your group to take you seriously change that fucking title.

He’s only 1 Male Comedian Out of 1000’s....to say all men aren’t Funny is just a shitty way to gain clicks

Jerry Seinfeld, then 38, dating 17 year old Shoshanna Lonstein. They dated for 4 years. Liberal media never complained.pic.twitter.com/Prl26SWZ4t

Classic Whataboutism

I hate this term “whataboutism” ... but I get why you are using it .... even though dating is waaay different than what is coming out now

The principle is still the same, though. It doesn't address the issue but instead just pivots over to something else bad that has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand.

If the title of this piece was “Why women aren’t funny” the author would be run out of town never to be seen again.

Man. This is an outrageous headline. Couple guys jerked off in front of women, doesn’t mean the whole damn sex isn’t funny.

It's a subversion of decades of stand up routines, articles and 'jokes' on "why women aren't funny" . Also remember that old chestnut, "why aren't there more female stand up comedians?"

After 40+ years of the "why aren't women funny" mantra, (trust me I was there in the clubs), it's an incredibly apt and clever headline for this article.

Viewed in isolation I certainly see where you're coming from that it's not an 'ok' thing to say, but in the context of the article and current events, I see it as drawing attention to and subverting the old trope, rather than literally saying that men aren't funny. 1/3
-
I think there will come a time (though it's quite far off) when men and women are more equal in this space where this would become just a sexist thing to say, but for now it's an edgy way to (as I keep saying) subvert & draw attention to this 2/3
-
It's also a bit of a shock value thing, people may see this and be a little offended, and then examine how they may have offended similarly in the past. With all that said, it's in a grey area for sure. It works well imo but you feel differently & i don't devalue that 3/3
