In 2005 she wrote that she loved her husband more than she did their 4 children. The backlash was swift and vicious.http://nyti.ms/2z2AILW

I don't understand... is this a bad thing or just a sign of a healthy relationship with your spouse and your children? Pretty sure my parents loved each other more than me, and I'd feel the same if I had any children.

Isn't it just a different kind of love? Hard to compare, imo. But maybe it's because marriages end, parenthood doesn't

It is a different love, so in some sense it's incomparable I agree. But I see a spouse as someone you'd spend the rest of your life with if it works out, but your children will eventually leave and have their own lives

Of course they will be part of your life until you die but even with strong relationships your kids will leave you mostly behind...as they should. They will have spouses and kids and you will fall far down in their priorities. As it should be

You wouldn't even HAVE that child if it weren't for your partner????

That's a sad way to think of your love for your husband, but you do you.

You know people can't actually control who they love more. Maybe being vocal about it could help someone who thinks something is wrong with them because they don't feel the "bliss" they ppl put out on social media. Do you also judge mom's with severe postpartum?

Yeah, I'm going to call bullshit on that. Everything you're saying is the opposite of your profile, and clearly you're "still waiting" to be proven wrong? That's not someone who's understanding of real people's struggles...

Belief parents should give up all for children is unhealthy. It leads to parents who won't let their kids grow up and the private hell known as an unhappy marriage. Kids are meant to grow and fly away: help them do it!
