Not a surprise at all. Educated dems tend toward socialism; climate change narrative more closely suits this ideology. Educated reps tend toward libertarianism; think for themselves and don’t trust the state. This is what I would have predicted.

Sure, science is a collective project for collective good, but it is also a marketplace of ideas. It seems that a true Hayekian should believe climate science even if they don't think the state should do anything about it.

Science is not a closed case; it is ever evolving. Climate change (known as global warming before the warming stopped) is unscientific because it suggests a closed case. Plenty of contrary evidence but political movement ignores it.

science is never a closed case. the question how to aggregate knowledge. Hayek would say that we need to think about the incentives of people publishing in peer-reviewed journals vs. those selling books on amazon. different markets = different incentives.

all of the libertarians I know are farmers. given their incentives, they all take warming and precipitation change very seriously, as do GOP legislators from ag states (though they don't say so publicly).

And yet, the United States and Syrian are the only two nations not participating in the #ParisAgreement. Probably worth a moment of thought for an educated person.

Actuallly I believe the stupidity happens on the left. Republicans become engineers, doctors, business people ...that allowes them to actually see through the scam because they are REAL scientists. The left studies gender, psychology and literature making them gullible clowns

The problem is partisanship and thinking that you have to side with your "team". This is a huge barrier to facts getting through. See Uranium One for proof of this - accepting the narrative over easy to see evidence

Poll asked “Worry about climate change”, not “Believe climate change exists.” or “Climate change is caused by human activity.” Wealthier Reps may feel they have the $ to avoid being personally harmed by climate change so worry less. Reps IMO worry about themselves, not others.
