        My BF lived & worked there for 5 years-witnessed many locals contradicting their religion/laws but ignored by Police. They are entitled to their own laws but consistency is key for any regime to work.

        I invited anyone to come and visit the city and see how great it is to get along with ppl of 200 nationalities with an open arm and an open heart. We r racing against time so don’t expect what others did in centuries we can do in few decades.

        Very biased article. Dubai has more tolerance now than what this article depicts. Laws have to be respected even if u disagree with them. Sad the nyt allows this. Critism is ok but these r isolated incidents not the norm
