Dear @nytimes, please frame it better. Louis C.K. is expressing remorse over being publicly caught out and exposed for being an abuser. NOT for what he did.

Incorrect. Read the whole statement. He apologized for the mental harm he caused those women. He normalized the behavior in his mind and in light of recent backlash decided to come to terms with himself. It’s all right there.

I respect his apology and think it’s the best possible response. We all are guilty of selfish acts that carelessly hurt others - it’s human

Sometimes we do something we know is wrong without appreciating just how wrong it is. People are headhunting now. Great to expose predators, but not everyone who does something bad, is a bad person.

I struggle to say that I am “impressed” considering the nature of the offense... but I am relieved that he owned it completely and without BS excuses. I hope it was sincere and I hope he became/becomes a better person for it.
-
Me too. I hope he gets the help he needs.

he only expressed this remorse because he was called out on it. if he was remorseful he wouldn't have done it again and again.
-
He addressed that in the article

Regardless of latent remorse or forced remorse, don't u wish Spacey and Roy Moore and
@realDonaldTrump and@BillOReilly and Hannity would all also offer up some ownership of their wrongs. Not for their benefit, but for those affected by these predators.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It’s just impossible to imagine the extent of egotism, entitlement and disrespect it takes to EVER think something like this was remotely acceptable.
-
It’s there to read, he keeps repeating himself about their so-called admiration for him.

It's definitely better than "I'm not sure if it happened but by the way, I'm gay!"

He only expressed remorse after he got caught. And the "listen a long time" - is code for "I expect to get my career back".
-
no he contacted all these girls several years ago to apologize
-
He called them rumors just moths ago.

It is a start. Wondering if any perpetrators will ever call out their behavior before the media breaks the story?
-
Some do. The hashtag
#itwasme is worth looking at! -
Thank you.
