Thank you for speaking out, Ms. Nyad. This responds perfectly to those troglodytes saying "If it's true, why didn't those women speak up earlier?" Because. They. Could. Not.

Read this when you posted on Facebook this morning. Can't stop thinking about it. Absolutely gripping.

Me too. Was very discouraging to overhear 2 guys in our office talking about the Louis C.K. story & how "maybe it was just a no-holds-barred atmosphere on set" 🤦... then, when they saw me come closer: "not to excuse what he did though." 😡

Me too. We can't let it go or nothing will happen. Plus, there is some healing value for victims.

Hats off to Diana for coming out. It's SO IMPORTANT that women come out and tell their story. I have several stories I could relate and I wonder how many women are out there who Don't have a story....and how many men, bosses, coaches, pastors, etc have a history as an abuser.

I read this yesterday. It explains so much about the psychological hold the predator can have over victims, especially young victims. Huge kudos and love to Diana Nyad for opening up in such an honest way.

I am the same age as Ms. Nyad. We were taught that we had no power over our own bodies at an early age. #MeToo

Me too. I'm overwhelmed by what you experienced. It rings true for me My abuser was a teacher at my school & there was no way not be around him as the school had 75 students. He was well known & admired by the community. My life changed & at 59 I still am affected by what he did

One can get over any experience in due course of time, but sexual attack traumas can last almost forever, specially for women who value their privacy. Seems the world is full of sexual predators.
