Inexcusable. Whoever gave him the grilled cheese should be held accountable.

Inexcusable, absolutely. But we also need to take into consideration that this school is probably understaffed and the people there, probably underpaid.

Being under staffed or underpaid does not excuse someone endangering the life of a child.

I didn't say it was an excuse. I'm saying if you keep blaming teachers instead of the administrations nothing will ever change.

The people who are hired to work there have access to all information on a child. This is inexcusable.

Sincerest condolences to the family. This story is terribly sad. I can't believe the caretakers waited for his mother to arrive instead of calling 911.

So sad! This is gross negligence they had documentation of his allergies to cheese yet he was given cheese, totally reckless incompetent employees. They didn’t call 911 they called his mom. It should be required all daycares and schools have epipens on site.

Absolutely heartbreaking! The school was negligent and failed this child on so many levels! Why on Earth would you give a severely allergic child a trigger food? Did they not know cheese is dairy? Where was the EpiPen? Why didn’t they call 911 & get an ambulance?

At our kids' daycare, allergies were posted in the child's classroom & in the kitchen so that EVERYONE encountering the child would know the allergies. Even my 3/4 yr olds knew their friends' allergies.
