if you spent years trying to realize a project, you'd make sure it has every chance to succeed. Scott has a responsibility to his producers/financial backers. I'm sure that isn't the only reason but a valid one in my humble opinion.

I guess we'll see how this affects the quality of the film, which should also be a consideration on a project years in the making.

what’s the alternative? disregarding ethical aspects, having a sexual predator star in your movie with all the groundswell in the news in recent times and risking your film to tank because of it? I think the choice here is clear.

If he's guilty he must be condamned by a judge, not by the people on socials
-
nobody is "goddamning" anyone. and this issue has gone WAY beyond social media. there are multiple, credible accusations. It's business-related risk management, not legal judgment. Mr. Spacey like anyone is entitled to due process.

Immorality is not necessarily illegal. If someone selling himself on his talent and character is revealed as a fraud it will affect his commercial worth.
-
And who is moral? He didn't rape children or young boys, maybe he approached them and they were exited too who can say what is moral or not
-
The Director has made a commercial decision about his film. That's his prerogative.

All for unsubstantiated or adjudicated ACCUSATIONS (that may be true) from THE EIGHTIES. Due Process apparently does NOT exist anymore.
-
And yes I know Due Process applies to the GOVERNMENT. The problem I have is an accusation today is a death sentence. Especially when virtually 3 decades ago.

So Kevin is immediately believed and destroyed because MEN came forward. But women who make accusations are consistently blamed, shamed, and questioned. What were you wearing? You’re trying to cash in! Why didn’t you say no? Why come forward now?

Sad that Hollywood has higher standards than the country has for The White House.
