His biggest problem was Trump's endorsement. With an unprecedentedly low approval rating, a Trump endorsement is the kiss of death for any candidate!

Here's hoping he keeps endorsing people like him, then.

That's the best part about being the @realDonaldTrump. When you win, its because of him. When you lose, its because of you.

Typical Trump: "It's not MY fault you lost!" Uhm, yeah it is. Gillespie's problem WAS that he embraced you. He rolled the dice and he/TRUMP lost.

Though I'm thrilled Gillespie lost, Trump is such a ship's rat. Why anyone follows or trusts him at all beggars belief!

He lost because he didn’t sufficiently embrace the president with historically low approval ratings. Sure, sure.

Without Trump? He made robocalls, tweets of endorsement for Gillespie, and gave support. The pro-Trump Cory Stewart lost the primary. What election did you all watch? I watched Dems come out in droves against Trump.

Make no mistake, the Trump crowd in Va came out for Gillespie because of Trump. Problem is, when your approval rating is at 35-36%, you don’t have the #’s to win against a decent candidate.
