Phasing out nuclear is climate insanity. We need reliable zero-carbon power, the more the better.

nuclear fission has the virtue of being almost carbon neutral. On the downside, we don't know its full cost

Personally, I am hoping we can get the regulatory blocks preventing #msr #thorium reactor development & it works out. That way re-processing will be unnecessary, the only outputs will be a relatively tiny amount of fission products+transuranic elements.

Nuclear power would be safe, reliable and provide more power sooner than any of the other forms of energy would, and much, much sooner!

It may do more harm in the short run, but we still have no real solution of how to dispose of nuclear waste.

Nuclear waste doesn’t make the top ten. Botox is #1. And Nuclear waste is actually unturned Nuclear fuel, and is stored safely on site. Nuclear energy has fewer radioactive emissions than coal.
