Dozens are killed in Las Vegas. 8 are killed in Manhattan. One attack is declared "terrorism," the other not. Why?http://nyti.ms/2A6nAlT

Oh you think the bloke was just bored, so he wanted to go shoot some ducks. I see.

Call it whatever you want. If I was in the crowd at Las Vegas I would be traumatized and terrorised. Terrorism isn't specific to color.

So I will call it terrorism, even if they say he was "mentally unstable". It's terrorism!

Yep so he did it because he had some ideas in his head, of what's gonna happen if he killed all those people. Just like a "brown terrorist".

Why would you choose to measure the LV casualties in "dozens" for this headline? It was nearly 60 individuals (almost 5 dozen)... [1/2]

...who lost their lives. Framing it in a "handful" manner like dozens deliberately downplays the large scale loss of life. Be conscientious.

And also, include the number of those injured in the sub-headlines, as they are equally relevant. The 500+ people injured should be listed.

So brown people are never mentally disturbed? Or should we ask white killers to reference Allah to help us classify their crime?

I’m more afraid of white men in pickups wearing plaid with a confederate flag in the back than I am of any person of color

Words mean things. Terrorism = meant to promote an ideology. NY expressly was. LV? Maybe, but not as far as we know now. Race irrelevant.

Know the MEANING of terrorism? Webster - the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion.
