Can’t control them - they already left. & there’s no way Catalans r going to cooperate with any rule from Madrid. Even repression won’t work

Have to feel sorry for Spanish -their leaders have made the most unmerciful mess of this situation, which could so easily have been avoided
-
Instead of restoring/enhancing Catalan autonomy, Spain now looks into the abyss of complete disintegration. What a spectacular own goal
-
Thank you. So few seem to recognize the importance of acknowledging the right of self determination

Today in Catalonia politicians representing 48% of the vote share, 36% of the electorate, declared independence via a secret ballot
#illegal -
Secret ballot is how EVERYONE should vote you fascist. You only wanted it public to prosecute the heretics.
-
Did I say secret voting was bad? I only say 48% per cent is not majority. Fascim is to impose independence to 52%.

This could turn ugly, and deadly. Not to mention a civil war in Europe has never led to good things, historically.

We need to send U.N. Peacekeeper to protect Catalonia and its independence over the monarchy of Spain

Catalan Parliament voted & the majority of lawmakers say YES. This is democracy. Spain is not a real democracy. Bye

Saying that everyone who did not vote pro independence on the election (including people who can't vote) is for NO indy is demagoguery.

Let’s talk numbers: Census: 5.343.358 cens People who voted 2.262.424 total participation 42% 90.09% YES, 7.87% NO 2.03% BLANK, 0.89% NULL
-
BUT 770.000 people WERE DEPRIVED THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE, stolen ballot boxes, etc) so census now down to 4.573.358. Participation now 49%
-
If of those 770.000 a 42% had gone to vote (as per average elsewhere) then another 326.025 people would have voted. Total Then 2.588.449.
