When I read abt parents that have the means 2 spend tens of thousands on fees 4 sons who’ve been accused of assault, I can’t finish this. It starts 2 reek of the entitlement that comes w/affluence & goes right back N2 victim blaming. I don’t feel sorry 4 their situation.

"In my generation, we bound our feet like good proper girls." - said ignorant old women

In the good old days we'd kill their husband's, scalp them, rape their wives, and sometimes their daughters,it was OK they were savages

@nytimes your energy would have been better spent telling stories of survivors. Or highlighting programs that help victims. Not this shit. -
My thoughts exactly. Instead, they slap victims in the face with this BS. Great job,

“I was willing to do anything” but teach my son the meaning of consent in the first place. This is awful.
-
My 15 y/o son has heard no means no since he was very little. It started with teaching him if someone says no, they don't want to play...
-
My friends of boys also teach “doubt means don’t” because some girls don’t come out and say “no!” or are too drunk/high to do so. Good luck.
-
I like that too
-
I have taught my son these same lessons. I tell him all the time that is it is not clear consent then take it as a “no” & drunk also = ‘no’
-
Smart! I also teach my daughters to say NO clearly and powerfully and avoid compromising situations, stay together as a group etc..
-
Me too. I started in elementary school. Take your drink to the bathroom. Travel in groups and look out for each other. Say “No” loud & clear
-
Ugh...I forgot about taking the drink with you...I want to say just stay home!!

Obviously I have a lot of thoughts about this - encouraged by the widespread negative response, thoughhttps://twitter.com/abbyhonold/status/922147061369376769 …

Especially the fact that she implied this conversation has happened more than once....not an innocent look
