        What an intensely frustrating article. After every anecdote I'd think "why don't you raise this issue with the doctor?" But no, the author never did. News flash: the next doctor will leave you no more satisfied than the last one if you never express yourself.

        I fired my doctor. I liked him, but not waiting for an hour or more to see the NP. There's nothing wrong with shopping around.

        Certainly you can fire your doctor if you are unhappy with care. Additionally, navigating patient prefs and EHR in short appointment can be hard--has been a lot of focus in medical education on how to communicate with patients to come to a shared decision/plan.

        What did it for me was a doctor who insisted I needed prescription lotion for dry skin. It was so mild, I hadn't even noticed it was dry! 😆
