It was an ILLEGAL referendum in which PEOPLE COULD VOTE as many TIMES as THEY WANTED to. That’s NOT DEMOCRACY. Just so you know. 😉👍🏻

If you think that justifies beating up Spanish citizens, your definition of democracy does not withstand scrutiny.

That’s not my definition of democracy. Neither is using my own kids as human shields, just looking 4 someone to publish that photo.

I see Spain has not lost their brutality towards civilians. Think of all the abuse they did to the entire Latin America.

Cataluña owes the State 52 billion euros. Try again.

Is debt a reason not to give them independence or the fact that Catalonia makes 20% of the Spanish GDP ?

Neither. It's illegal. That's the price of receiving the benefits of 52 billion of spains money. You have to play by the rules

The definition of illegal differs from country to country.... And the powers that back the secession.

The definition of illegal is against the law. Everywhere. And the second article of the Spanish constitution is clear on this

Мy point was that politics overpower the law.... Everywhere. Countries were bombed for trying to stop a secession. At least Spain is backed.

The referendum didn't descend "into chaos". It was friendly and disciplined. Chaos was violence against democracy of Spanish govt forces.
