How does having to show ID stop people from voting? You need ID to get a library card, buy alcohol or cigarettes. Why not show it to vote?

ID's and Driver's licenses cost money. By requiring ID, you're making people have to pay to vote. Unconstitutional.

The article even says they give a free ID to people. So what does that say about the mentality of Democratic voters? NYT is speculating🙄

ID itself may be free, but the supporting documents often aren’t; time/transport to get them a burden. This has been studied extensively.

How does someone survive in today's world without an ID? Why do people assume it's only Democrats affected by this?

I don’t know but they do. Not everyone needs to fly. Maybe a family member does the shopping. Some elderly voters have expired licenses, etc

My mom didnt have a valid ID for several years before she died. She still had the right to vote.

This is ridiculous. You have to be a citizen to vote, and you need an ID to drive, carry firearms, fish, pick up prescriptions...

Not when only a few specific types of ID are acceptable & the state cuts the places, locations & hours where those IDs can be obtained.

6 % were actually prevented from voting due to no/invalid ID. The rest just THOUGHT they had the wrong ID. State not responsible for that.pic.twitter.com/fHhexNGGVC
