Dear The New York Times. Mr. Kaepernick's protest is not a Anthem Protest. It's a protest against Cops killing unarmed POC.

Each of us have to grapple with our own conscience and protest in our own way. It's 'Action from Principle'. #TakeTheKnee #CivilDisobedience

Times you need to rephrase, these are not anthem protests. #TakeAKneeNFL has nothing against the anthem itself.

Thinking the flag doesn't represent those who fought for it because you say so is like using your head as a paper weight

They fought for ideals expressed in the Constitution, not a piece of cloth.

50 of my Marines came home draped in that piece of cloth. Don't ever tell me it's not important or doesn't have meaning

I didn't say either of those things. You have a reading comprehension problem. They swear an oath to the Constitution, not to the flag.

I know what you said. You called it a piece of cloth. That cloth represents the country and the constitution that guides it comprehend?

The Constitution is the guiding light of this country. New soldiers don't swear an oath to the flag, they swear an oath to that document.
