You know, maybe I don't want to have to have an ID badge for all to see so that I won't be murdered by police.
-
Why should I have to disclose to the world that I am
#ActuallyAutistic to keep LEO's from killing me as a first resort?#Ableism

There is NO EXCUSE for this lack of training! Give me a break - open your eyes and look around you?! Solution:education /inclusion/awareness
-
There has to be mandatory, specific training on identifying/protecting individuals w/ disabilities. There's no excuse!

Heart-breaking video. It's tough to be a cop. Tougher to be a black kid with autism. Nobody wins.

Yeah if police are going to handle citizens they should at least know how to deal with situations like this.

We need to redefine the policing profession to be more like social work... including requiring a 4-year degree.
-
Agreed their lack of education is the primary cause of them killing unarmed people to much power and armed

That's for the courts to decide. The cops are only doing their jobs

A start will be to get all the

People with autism aren't disabled, people paralyzed from the bottom that have to use a wheelchair are disabled
-
My g~daughter is a non verbal autistic and very disabled she will never be able to respond to police commands, ever
-
As someone on the spectrum, it should not be considered a disablement but rather a quirk
-
This is the problem with the "autistic" label. A person who can't speak is disabled, autistic or not.
-
Also, autism will continue to be a disability for most autistic people until society stops making it that way.
-
I agree
