Read this article today and I don't fully know how I feel but some things are not redeemable...murdering a child is one that's for certain

There's no excuse to justify murdering & disposing of a child, let alone your own child! Where's your compassion for the real victim here.

That's great institutionalizing benefited her but questioning Harvard rejecting her due to her past "murder of her son" is ludicrous.

Right. There are a lot of self taught educated ex prisoners, why is she getting special treatment?

Complex story. Good for @NYU to give her a chance. She may have been a monster 20 yrs ago. Is she still? Who are we to judge? Did her time.

It is positive that a brilliant person can contribute to society in some way, but she should be doing it from behind bars for another 30yrs.

Maybe. The judicial system said otherwise. How many is the proper number of years to pay for murder? 20? 50? There's really no right answer.

The problem I see is that she was given special treatment. Should all child murderers get only 20yrs now? Why does her crime matter less?

Like I said, I don't know. I'm conflicted about the value she may have to society vs the need to punish her for killing her son.

There is many talented, unpriviled women who have not killed their kid. They should get into a PhD program at NYU, not her!
