NYT, you have no shame. The angle of this headline makes it sound like a disease - Medicare for all is GOOD for all.

As a physician not good to me
-
Can you elaborate? Genuinely interested.
-
Substantial reimbursement reduction, decreased autonomy and increasing government oversight.
-
What affects you most out of that, anything you can’t live with? Point being, can you sacrifice so that your nation can have coverage?
-
Good question.

we are $20 trillion in debt! how will we pay for this?
-
1) Money now going to ins premiums go to taxes instead 2) Healthy people work longer pay/more taxes 3) Better coverage = fewer unpaid bills

Makes me sick that Americans who say their country is the best, can't bother to help their neighbors and help stop healthcare debts.
-
It’s truly alien to me. I’m British, and I’ve lived in Canada - both countries have national healthcare. Unbelievable that the US doesn’t.

Insurance companies will lobby hard to not let this happen, they would basically be eliminated.

All Americans should have health coverage. Of course we all pay for it, we do now anyway - rising premiums and copays.

Its utterly perplexing reading comments of 'how will we pay for this' as if we arent now! Do you folks think healthcare is free now?
-
We already pay twice what other countries do. And that goes into the pockets of insurance companies, not into anyone's healthcare.
-
Your employer wouldnt be paying your premiums. Municipalities, counties & state governments wouldnt be paying for workers= lower M/C/S taxes
-
And private industry could invest that savings and pass it onto workers. We arent starting from zero here folks.
