        Most of them wouldn't be affected had they filed for citizenship in the years they've been here. less than half entered even applied

        Citizenship can only be obtained in a certain ways... marriage, sponsorship by company, etc. DACA does not necessarily yield citizenship

        Had she applied at any point during her 12 years here, or during undergrad, doctorate, or post-doc.. she would've been a citizen long ago

        Not true! US law makes it nearly impossible for an immigrant to get legal status if they have lived in the country illegally.
