The concept alone invited immediate scrutiny: The film about girls will be written and directed by 2 menhttp://nyti.ms/2vRiOp7

Book is literally about the problems faced in a society made solely of males. All-female cast entirely defeats the purpose #StopThePandering

Golding is addressing the larger problem of human nature when stripped of the confines of societal guardrails, not gender.

That brings into question why Golding made them all one gender, and why *suddenly* two men feel the need to gender swap the cast.

I understand equal representation being desirable but that =/= entirely adapting a story by gender-swapping. Pandering is annoying and lame.

The book was better than the old film and it will be better than the new film. Read the book.

I am obviously all for equality, being an educated working woman, but some nuances of the book hinge on it being about public school boys.

Actually private school boys. Therein lies the irony of theirs barbarism.

It's best Hollywood sticks to ORIGINAL females produced, scripted and acted movies than these gender switching of classic movies.

Apparently females are not up to producing original material so we get to 'enjoy' classics like ghost busters re hashed 😂

There are tons of original and talented female artists & writers, seems Hollywood would rather re-appropriate a story and scream sexism 😉
