Simply not enough time to move that many people out of harms way, without leaving countless numbers of people in open areas.

People in Texas pissed over people asking them why they didn't evacuate, but aren't aware that Gov. Abbott called for evacuation on Friday.

You don't tell a sprawling city w/a population of over 4M people w/in the greater #Houston area to all evacuate at once at the last minute.

Yet, that's what Gov. Abbott did. The mayor of Houston told everyone to stay in place, and stay off the roads.

Turner understood the situation way better than Abbott. 4Million + on the road would = 100s if not 1000s of deaths on roads

Because of past experiences such as Hurricane Katrina, when the evacuation process resulted in many casualties.

No it wasn't. It was no feasible to move that many people - and to where? Every direction we could go was projected to be in the path.
