The city had 12 years to formulate a plan to evacuate in stages, depending on risk, & did not with full knowledge another flood would occur.

They knew this storm was coming. Why wasn't there an earlier MANDATORY evacuation? Early minor inconvenience could have saved more lives!

Easy, he learned from mistakes in the past, example Hurricane Rita. Something that others need to do as well, so history doesn't repeat.

You could've tweeted this headline "Houston Mayor’s No-Win Dilemma: Whether to Tell Residents to Stay or Go". I get it, sensationpic.twitter.com/AonR3DGPgv

There was nothing preventing people from making their own decision to leave. Right?

Exactly.

And if he had issued a mandatory evacuation people would have drown on the highways. He did the right thing, period.

Let me clear this up: Black Dem mayor fucks up. If white Repub mayor does this, it's criminal behavior.
-
Did you read the article before making it political and racial? He sought the advice of people from both sides and for praise from opponents
-
Yes. I read article. He fucked up. He made a bad call.
-
I do agree he probably could've evacuated some residents early. He also was going off previous hurricane experience and advise.
-
AND as far as making it political: Tell that to folks who say Texas DESERVES this for voting for Trump. And folks glad oil industry ruined.
-
Those people are just as much idiots as well and I have. Even the people in Houston are split on whether it was the right call or not.
-
Debate and discussion is good. I dont hate you because you think Mayor did correct thing. I dont think he did. And its ALL political.
-
If I hated you I won't comment or I would've unfollowed you by now. A difference in opinions helps to view both sides.
