Some people “feel that voting is a right tied to citizenship" but this Maryland town may change thathttp://nyti.ms/2uqzXdk

I've known ppl who weren't citizens who served in our military and pay taxes. They should be able to vote and gain citizenship.

Anyone who serves in the military, who is honorably discharged, should be automatically granted full citizenship upon discharge.

You're right. Many of our veterans that served are getting deported. It's ok for them 2 risk their lives for this country they should be

It isn't a "feeling", it's a reality. You must be a legal citizen of the United States to vote. Rational and just.

Only in local elections. Cities can involve more residents in local decisions if they choose.

I live & vote in California, & own a house in another state. Sure wish I could vote on municipal and county issues in 2nd state.

I am disenfranchised in matters that affect my wallet (local taxes) and the quality of municipal services (which have gone downhill)

A us citizen can only vote in one state. If you financially fare better in second state, then move and give up voting rights in CA.

2/ Some states allow non-residents to vote in limited local elections. See for examplehttps://ivn.us/2015/11/09/voting-rights-of-people-who-own-property-in-multiple-states-taxing-districts/ …

Doesn't the 15th Amendment mean anything to them? The Voting Rights Act also should protect all voters.

There MUST be laws that prevent foreign nationals from voting in our elections & having a say in how we run our country! This is sickening.😠

Citizenship is a pact. You give, you get. You commit to joining together THEN you should have the right to vote no matter your "demographic"

Amen! If you pay taxes in this country you should be allowed to vote regardless of citizenship. Also: allow former convicts the same right🇺🇸

Nope. One person, one vote. Giving rich people more would expand the divide between the classes and keep other people down. #WeThePeople

If non citizens can buy the right to vote by paying taxes, the vote has been monetized.

That would then become the basis for proportional voting based on tax payments, or the purchase of citizenship (which we already have btw)
