She borrowed nearly $75,000 for a Harvard theater degree. Most young actors don’t have grad school debt like that.http://nyti.ms/2fnFs5X

Someone probably should have told her she was making a terrible terrible mistake. Don’t take loans for school kids. Go learn to hustle.

Don't borrow that much money if you can't pay it back. Do the math, and if it doesn't make sense, same some more money.

How does one "know" that they can pay it back? Life doesn't work like that.

Some people have to work jobs not in their field of choice before they can pursue their dreams. Unfortunately that's how real life works

I'm guessing most successful actors never went to Harvard.

Is this really surprising? I picked my degree and institution to make sure I could pay my bills afterwards.

Wait. She went to HARVARD because she wanted to be an actor? Harvard is... not a prestigious theater school.

Maybe Harvard theatre dept would serve its students better by requiring financial literacy in the first semester

I want to be a writer. But I went to a school I could afford and picked a major that was practical. Because my parents didn't play that.
