Behavior tests for shelter dogs are not reliable, experts say. Yet results often lead to adoption or euthanasia.http://nyti.ms/2uemVLf

I'm inclined to believe the previous owners of these shelter dogs are the unreliable ones.

Breaks my heart that these poor pups end up suffering yet no repercussions for the people who leave them behind.

Behavior tests are unreliable in a strange environment that invokes fear in an animal that has likely just suffered torment.

There are no easy answers here. Shelter workers are overworked & underpaid & try their best to rehome animals. It's incredibly difficult.

The issue isn't fixed at the shelters. We need to start giving pets the same rights as children so people stop abandoning them.

They are definitely unreliable. We adopted a pitbull that was labeled dangerous & was to be euthanized. She turned out to be very loving. L
