Even if I'm notoriously a Francophile, I strongly believe #macarons are highly overrated

In general, I agree. Some of the names on this list are a must taste though.
@PierreHerme and@pierremarcolini are in a different league.

They're pointless rubbish. Eat a doughnut.

Philistine.

I resemble that comment!

Who wouldn't resent resembling a macaron-dissing Philistine.

These, somewhat tart, insults are making me very croissant. Continuing to turnover this issue can only bring pain without profiterole.

Those things are vastly overrated, probably the least memorable thing I've ever eaten in France.
-
It's a matter of taste. A lot of people enjoy them greatly, others simply don't like them. :)
-
Sure, it's entirely subjective. I assumed I'd like the "real" macarons in Paris, but found they were much like those at home.
-
Depends where you got them from. The "real" ones aren't those you can find in stores in France.
-
Interesting. Are they something commonly made at home?
-
They're hard to make, so not that much. But when you master it, it's quite something. If you know to eat them a day or 2 after you make them
