I hope it's true. I have 2 master's degrees, had over 100K in loans. As a social worker coming out of school I was making 32K. Impossible.

Why should taxpayers eat your decision to get 2 masters degrees in a field that wouldn't allow you to pay the loans back?

I didn't go into the field to have taxpayers pay my loans. Social workers don't make a livable wage. SW is undervalued. You have to move up.

I worked and took classes as I could afford. Seriously, how did you ever visualize paying that off?

I went to school before managed care and thought I would become a therapist. After school it's a long time to get there.

My kids-who worked their way full time thru college to avoid high loans-are going to be mega pissed if the Fed lets sluggard off scot free.

What a total lack of understanding about the student debt crisis. Sit down, Brenda.

Nobody twists your arm to make you go to an Ivy. And plenty of people misuse and default on student loans. Get offa your high horse.

Seen tuition in state schools lately? I've worked in academia for over a decade. Students are not "misusing" anything. You know nothing.

Yeah I had 3 kids in college at once. My entire paycheck was a "reasonable contribution" to FAFSA. So my kids worked--hard.
