Why is it called a Fantasy show and not Horror?

One's perspective which explains the shameful way Hollywood has depicted blacks since Birth of a Nation.

Will it really trivialize slavery though? I'd be surprised if they depicted it as anything other than a horrible alternate reality.

There's a difference between depicting something vs trivializing it. I'll withhold judgment until I've seen how they portray it.

Indeed. It's not fair to decry it as trivializing slavery before we've even seen the first episode. Nowhere have they said slavery is fine.

This is going to be awkward, but needs to be said: Not everyone in America thinks slavery is a bad thing. #UglyTruth

We should 100 percent have a speculative fiction show in which Africans in the South murder all the slave masters. No biggie. Just fiction.

There is nothing speculative about the history and pain of slavery! Why don't they do one on the holocaust? This is in very poor taste

HBO has a been very liberal, and I highly doubt their show is going to glorify the Confederacy's rule in the alt history.
