Why are they packing? Who is trying to kill them? Police killing civilians is part of the gun culture.

Gun ownership is merely another part of self defense, its like asking why learn martial arts. Police brutality is its own issue.

Not too different. You can be a yahoo gun nut or simply respect the tool and have it ready for its time. Many have been saved through this.
