Just ask the millions of us who went from private insurance to Medicare. Medicare is a huge improvement.

Yeah, if you can afford the extra part. Plus some Drs. aren't taking anymore medicare patients.

With all the retiring Boomers this is a major problem.4 too many years we've been graduating Specialist & not enough General Practice Dr's.

An important aside is that many of those who ARE going into general practice are immigrants.

as a healthcare provider i can strongly say that Medicaid is amazing for patients (shitty for providers) and private insur. sucks for both.

My doc doesn't take Medicaid patients, so yes, my private insurance is better.

I would also wager that your doctor also does not take new patients...medicaid or not. So sort of a mute point.

They are taking new patients, so it isn't moot at all.

Private insurance is better when many doc offices wont accept Medicaid.

There are so many coverage rules that make little sense to most ordinary folks and docs alike. Hope she is ok.

In addition, Medicaid has to approve what kind of treatment you receive; not your doctor. It's all about money.

Yes it is!! Ask any doctor. They will tell you the truth. Thus why so many dropped it.

Actually it has similar rates of doctors as private insurance in most of the country. Medicaid covers more services than private insurers.
