itd be cool if the USA jumped on that

It's a little harder to do here because of range limits & charging stations, but it's coming sooner than some folks think.
-
itd be way more difficult here, theres a huge car culture here, but eventually we will be out of that trap

Actually, unless someone figures out a way to convert the cars we've used for almost a hundred years, we're going to have a massive problem.
-
Most people haven't been using their cars for 100 years though... ?
-
I'm just saying there are 100's of millions of gasoline fueled cars out there....including cars made in the 1920's and 1930's

-
We already have programs to incentivize people to turn in older cars. I've gone through that process myself. It could be expanded.
-
I'm aware of the incentives. I live in Fremont, CA. I'm not against EV's, but I'll hold on to my '69 Mach 1 Mustang, just-in-case!
-
I figured you were here in CA, given your handle. :)
-
Lol. Fair! My last gig as a contractor was for an Energy Storage start-up, right down the street from Tesla aka Solar City.
-
Nice. You mentioned conversion of conventional vehicles - do you have any knowledge on whether that could be feasible?

Volvo has said it plans to only produce hybrid and electric cars by 2019. If only more automakers would make -and keep- that same pledge

meanwhile in the USA, we'll be given tax breaks for purchasing "coal fired" vehicles
-
The electricity to charge the cars will indeed come from clean coal, natural gas, and nuclear power plants.
-
There's no coal anything here. And the car thing is part of a bigger plan that cuts nuclear as well.
-
The real issue is not renewable energy vs fossil fuels, it is the fact that far more advanced technologies are being suppressed and withheld
