In my old business, we paid 100% higher than the average, our business was a success due to high productivity, and honest hard working ppl.

This created high paying specialist jobs (programmers, electrical engineers, etc...) But if you prefer taking orders 4 your $, you do you.

Not sure I get the issue even if it's true- Better to be paid more for fewer hours of work than have to work longer hours for that same pay.

It seems you are part of the problem! Less people get work! And total income is lower!

What I read in the article is that the issue of cutting hours is not likely to be the result of the raise. Living wage matters.

The journalist can say what he wants. The economists state otherwise. Read papers on this and it is clear.

So there were two different studies of this made at the same time that came to opposite conclusions. The other feels more legit to me.

Negatively. And who determined 15 bucks an hour was a livable wage. When I was a 18 (I'm 38) I made $14 and was broke as shit.

Corps would have to pay increased wage, if it was increased USA wide. Then they wouldn't have anywhere to go. Wages are disgustingly low.

Because corporations move to where the cheaper labour is, In fact if it increased to 20 or 25 to catch up with 30 yrs of wage deflation. Tbc

Friend of mine lives there. People are fleeing because the cost of everything else is going up. Straight from the horse's mouth.

There's no free lunch, honey. Would YOU pay an unskilled worker $15hr? The low skilled can't reach that bottom rung. But you feel good. :(
