Portraits have existed long before selfies. Are people who pay photographers or painters to make portraits of them & their families selfish?

Kids liking how they look and wanting to capture those moments aren't selfish. Olds should be happy that kids seem to be loving themselves.

Just returned from Italy. It was astounding, the # of selfies being taken and often the people didn't even look at the fountain, church, etc
