        I love the ny times but this is terrible advice. Caffeine is really not good, especially not good to advise using it before exercising.

        Pretty sure this could be dangerous and possibly fatal in rare cases. Why should anyone turn to drugs (legal or not) to enhance performance?

        It would be interesting to see long-term studies too - I would guess that artificially cranking up heart rate would come at a long-term cost

        Most pre-workout supplements contain caffeine. It does give you the extra energy to workout harder and longer
