My dad choose assisted suicide. We celebrated his life before his humane departure. It should be the law.

I am glad - my Dad died in discomfort and pain "I wouldn't treat one of the animals like this" were his final words - he was a pig farmer.

Its time we allow people the diginity to die in peace. Its ridiculous people are forced to suffer against their will.

I treat people who struggle daily with suicidal thoughts. Stories like these don't help.

There is no comparison between those with suicidal thoughts and those seeking assisted suicide. Chalk and cheese.

That's not how it works in real life. Stories like this hurt vulnerable people.

It's a contentious issue that needs highlighting. We can't keep it out of the public domain through a fear of upsetting a few. Greater good.

Eg. NYC had jump in suicides the year after Final Exit published. Book found at scene of some deaths.

Causation does not imply correlation. People unfortunately commit suicide. We can't ban every topic that may cause them to do so.

Again, the issue is not banning but balance and caution. See CDC guidelines for media coverage of suicides.

They have learned to give people the choice to be treated at least with the same respect and dignity in death as we treat our pets. Thanks

With Medicaid funding cuts in the US this might need to be an option in all States. Hospice centers and nursing homes are going to get hit.
