Anyone can summarize the article ? I've exceeded my month's limit. Thanks
-
The hospital where I worked could theoretically make their own. But would be costly & time consuming. Btw, try clear historuy, go incognito.
-
Those are weird times we live in when your health can worsen due to lack of baking soda. Thks, didn't think of that. Much appreciated.

It's all about the money. The drug companies don't make a lot on this so they don't produce as much as is needed to drive up price

Wow! Used to be a pharmacy tech, I remember stocking that on our crash carts. You don't want to not have it on hand.

A CHILD can MAKE that solution with a measuring cup, water and baking soda, can hospital staff not do the same?
-
kids can make Kool-aid; but I wouldn't want to use the Easy-Bake Oven version of an intravenous med used to treat life threatening ills -
The bicarbonate solution is literally baking soda and distilled water - just measure the amount to add. Again a child can do that.
-
True...a child could mix it up - but I would not recommend it for Intravenous use.
-
And what about a nurse? Or a doctor preparing it? Would you trust them? Does it need to be a pharmaceutical corporation? This is the point
-
If the point is "who to trust"- then I would only trust an accredited lab. Most definitely not any healthcare provider except a pharmacist
-
And again, only if they have an accredited compounding lab/pharmacy.
-
It would still be administered by a nurse - it just would come FROM the nurse and the minute it took them to stir baking soda in water.
