Wouldn't it be great if the gov't worked for the people instead of big business?

This is why I find it surprising that anyone who collects a paycheck would vote Republican.

"Nom-compete is modern day slavery" so true! You shouldn't be forced to sign non-compete unless trade secrets are involved or top management
-
Modern day slavery? Let's rethink your words there. Maybe say "non competes are shitty and kind of unethical"
-
What else is "slavery" but owing someone's ability to work? If you can only work for one employer, and not for anyone else, what is that?
-
Then don't sign the god damn thing. They totally suck, but from my reading of history, most slaves were unable to opt out of their job
-
I think you need to be more empathetic, we've all been in positions where we would do anything, sign anything in order to get a good job.
-
We need to get Trump and his minions out of our government before they devour it from within, like termites.
-
This is an issue that really doesn't matter who is in the White House. Because capitalism exploits workers. Time to start eating your bosses
-
I haven't quite reached that extreme level of discontent as yet ewww

@Fahrenthold In California non-compete agreements are unenforceable for most employees. Any state could outlaw them if they wanted. - 1 more reply

All non compete clauses should become null and void if the employee is terminated for any reason or their salary is cut.

People support right-to-work states in addition to non-compete clauses b/c they don't like unions?! JFC.Workers' rights r more imp than ever
-
I honestly don't think *everyone* who supports "right to work" knows what it means. The phrase is kind of misleading.
-
"Ignorance of the law" blah blah blah, but I don't know if it's an accident when legislators come up w confusing or misleading bill names.
-
Exactly and that's gross negligence on their part. This country disappoints me.We have to change the direction as voters & hope for the best

TBH federal regulations seriously needed to rein in non-compete clause contracts. Unfortunately, won't happen under Trump / GOP congress.
-
didn't happen under Obama either. And I never saw HRC mention them. This is a bipartisan screwjjob
