That baby would've been treated regardless of ability to pay. Hospitals are required to treat all "unmistakable emergencies".

That's not the point. Prevention comes before and no one gets it if they can't afford it. Defending the US health system is immoral.
-
WRONG! Hospitals are required to treat all "unmistakable emergencies" regardless of ability to pay.
-
An emergency requires treatment. That you might get it. Not the prevention. You still don't get the point.
-
Point is Kimmels baby would have been treated even if it was a poor family.
-
A poor family would have been charged afterward an amount they could in no way afford. This would lead to losing their home and more.

He's right. It shouldn't. Everyone should have access to the same healthcare Kimmel's son had.
-
Yes, they should. And in civilised countries they do.

No, everyone in the USA does NOT have access to the same healthcare Kimmel's son has if they can't pay for it.

We (US) spent 3.2 trillion on healthcare last year. The German national GDP was 3.4 trillion. Youre asking taxpayers to fund Germany. Nope.
-
Single-payer healthcare systems, like Germany's, dramatically lower the per person cost of health care.
-
I've heard of it of course but have never done the research for myself. I'll add it to my list. Thank you.

We are being scammed in the US. Exact same drug by same laboratory, made in US, sold for $19 in EU and $95 in the US. And ppl happy..!
-
I don't doubt it. My problem is the govt wants the taxpayer, sick/well, old/young, rich/broke, TO PAY FOR THIS SCAM. Politics is the scam!
-
With 1/10th of the defense butget you could build a minimal health system to guarantee life. That would drop private premiums. no tax raise
-
Nope. Nobody gets rich that way.
-
Only until voters want this change. The info is out there.
