They already treat anyone who comes to hospital who needs urgent care. We don't need Barry insurance.

and they may treat medical emergencies, but if that's the only way to get care, a lot more people die and go bankrupt.
-
On top of that, when hospitals don't receive payment for care, the costs for everyone else goes up. Universal coverage just makes sense.
-
Indeed. By the time a patient is wheeled into the ER it is probably too late for them.
-
Yes, they delay too long. And the cost! Can you imagine the savings to the overall economy if we could steer ER traffic to doctors' offices?
-
Not to mention, that they could probably be working and paying taxes. All for the cost of preventative h/c and access to GPs for check ups.
-
It feels like some people would rather see people sick and dying to save a buck--when they're really not saving that buck at all.

If no pre-existing: Could this poor baby be screwed for life getting coverage when older?
-
No Daddy has money. It's poor & middle class Americans who won't b able to afford coverage. To Daddy's credit says 0 American should have 2
-
But our kiddos would be screwed without it, no? Too healthy for Medicare, but a scarlet pre-existing makes it $$$.
-
No question. Unless you're wealthy you're not going to be able to afford the pre-existing coverage premiums with Trumpcare 2.0 or is it 3.0?

In addition to having a potential time bomb health problem to live with...

The great irony. Republicans are so pro-life, but once the baby's born, they don't want anything to do with it.

Unless it's born with a trust fund up its ass!

I am so happy for Jimmy- but honestly, using your child's illness to promote your politics is about the worst thing ever.
-
Why? Do you not believe everyone should have access to affordable healthcare? Or is it a privilege for the wealthy?
-
This isn't about what I believe. It's about him using a very personal situation for political argument. It's inappropriate.
-
No, it's not- comedy is political, not often partisan, and he has a platform. It's exactly about what you believe.
-
Similar 2 yrs ago. Cannot imagine using it as a way to promote/demote Obamacare, especially right after it happened. That's all I'm saying.
-
He actually DIDN'T promote Obamacare. He just said healthcare should be accessible regardless of income or pre-existing conditions.
-
Newsflash: it IS accessible. ERs cannot legally turn any patient away.
-
You really think a kid w/this congenital heart disease & poor parents/parents with no insurance could get the care they need through the ER?
