how would a wall at the border discourage legal immigration?

I think 45 is probably doing an efficient job to discourage any immigration, legal or not, just by being POTUS.

McNamara was another who had zero public service experience. Tried running DOD like he did as Ford CEO. Very smart man.

McNamara was a smart man. Times obit called him 'architect' of Vietnam War - total BS. Blame rests with Joint Chiefs & people like Lansdale

Lansdale is a great study. Black operator involved in leadership overthrow in Vietnam late 63. Had forgotten about him.

Kennedy had no control over those people & of course neither did Johnson or McNamara. Has anything changed? If anything it's worse today.

The Great Wall may have served its purpose in 14th-century Ming-Era China, but people have developed a number of countermeasures since then.

Bullshit. You could never beat the North Vietnamese. Far too clever. It takes more than bombs and body counts.

The NVA never surrendered. They took the South, then took Cambodia, then beat China back when they invaded N. Vietnam. Read a book man.
