Even if you're seated, holding a ticket, you can still get kicked off a plane. Here's why.http://nyti.ms/2o3Zx0z

I don't care. They should have offered more money or asked someone else. This is ridiculous and there was no need for it.

What rule or law says that man could be removed from the flight once boarded? Seems like you didn't read the United contract of carriage.

Simply poor reporting, plain and simple. "...they can still get kicked off. Fairly randomly, it seems" has no basis in any policy, anywhere.

Also "denied boarding" is not removal from the plane. It makes me wonder if the reporter has even flown before, let alone done research.

This feels like a sponsored article. It doesn't explain the core of the issue - the brutal unfair treatment!

Used to being herded/prodded like cattle on way to slaughter. We're wimps for poor customer service for low fares.

The flight wasn't overbooked. It was fully booked and they asked people to get off for their own employees.

If so-called airline/DOT rules technically say this can happen to anybody, then our fear of terrorists are mis-directed.
