Just my opinion,I doubt they were implying racism. White is associated w/nature and all things pure. Not skin tone.http://www.color-meanings.com/white-color-meaning-the-color-white/ …

White = all things pure is where things get racist. Black is evil, white pure. You're right & that's also part of problem.
-
I just meant it was my opinion they were meaning pure, as in no chemicals, artificial junk, etc in the lotion. I wasn't trying to offend.
-
No, not at all, sorry if I came off that way. I agree that's what they meant, it just prob wasn't a great idea bc of those connotations.
-
I see. I completely understand your point! Sorry, just didn't want to come across differently than what I meant for.

Come on!! Everything is racial now?
-
Why would lotion need to message white is purity? I'd normally agree with you but this seems needlessly inflammatory. Bad decision.
-
White has been associated to purity for millennia, is just cultural...
-
This commercial wasn't in another country. I think it wasn't a smart move when you are trying to get people to buy your product, clearly.
-
I do agree it's cultural. That's why In THIS culture, it wasn't wise.
