I live in Mobile and this article was TERRIBLE! It painted Mobile Mardi Gras as a dark. It's nothing of the sorts!
It is sad because if I only read this article then I would have such a negative view of what seems like a great festival. Thanks for sharing
this article is AWFUL!!!! Thanks for the positive feedback!
- Women in all white? KKK operatives?
What about the history of the moonpie, the moonpie store and the dropping of the moonpie every night when the parade arrives?pic.twitter.com/TsryptU3wn
what about the beautiful colorful floats? I just don't understand this article!pic.twitter.com/LTh8soiKt0
this is how we celebrate Mardi Gras! It's more than secret societies and being incognito.pic.twitter.com/hs3yt5B3bp
where is the description of the aromatic fragrance of BBQ downtown?pic.twitter.com/nrksmHKxGP
where are the views of the large crowds in attendance?pic.twitter.com/FyOJTwsYmk
where are the families partying and dancing? Where are the parents bbqing and frying fish downtown? Where are the friends reuniting
and the balls are segregated.
Been to Mardi Gras in Mobile & the NYT version was awful. Hints of backwardness, racism and darkness. Shame on you!
it was HORRIFIC!!!!!
Everyone in the South knows that Mobile's Mardi Gras pre dates NOLA's.
