Defunding ACA with no plan to replace it. That's what is being offered. They've had 6 years to devise an alternative & chose not to

this is what happens when you finally have to put your money where your mouth is. Healthcare should be a human right

Fantastic idea, let's gut a bill w/o a replacement and bailout failing insurers. Let's all invest in Enron again too!

The poor, angry, uneducated GOP voters will suffer. Then they'll blame Obama. Because they're so stupid.

Amazing that the first thing they do is take away something rather than build something new.

I was self-insured for many years. We paid huge sums and were 1 diagnosis away from being dropped.
-
State pools have existed for a while. Prior to ACA, you had to be exceptionally sick to access them, at least in IL.
-
@GOP says they want to eliminate Medicaid expansion. Then what? Where do poor people go for healthcare? Back to ER? Details matter. -
Large employers will no longer have to offer insurance, which means individuals will be without protection of the "pool."
-
This means exceptionally high rates for things like generic antibiotics (in my experience anyway.)
-
We had VERY few insurance plans to choose from - and if you had a pre-existing condition, you were screwed.
-
But it looks like
#GOP wants self-insured people to go back to those days. This is not good. -
Why would health insurance companies pay for a pre-existing condition in a "market-based health care economy?" They won't.
