        as a former 18 wheeler driver, i would block both lanes so no one would cut under my right front blindspot so i wouldn't hit 'em.

        The problem isn't the drivers who merge as the lane is ending; it's the ones who drive on the shoulder *after* the lane has ended.

        I will as much as possible maintain a good couple of car lengths from the car in front. You never get cut off if you leave room.
