And that is a double standard, that men should have physical autonomy and control over women's, too

Their uterus becomes someone else's property when she falls pregnant. Its not hers to do w/ what she will. Its the baby's.

What idiot chose this headline? The article is actually decent, but the headline is COMPLETELY MISLEADING & almost certain to earn censure from people who probably won't even read it before responding to this tweet w/hostility. If meant as sarcasm, might want to clarify that.

That's the point. It will gain clicks by being controversial and people will talk about. Better for the writer.

The problem is they're getting a lot of negative responses without associated clicks/reads b/c many people are having a knee-jerk reaction to the headline & not actually investigating beyond it. They won't even read the article b/c they're offended by its packaging.

LOL--it's like going to the market & seeing a row of bagged lunches w/labels on them telling you what's inside. On seeing a label that says "crap sandwich" most shoppers won't bother picking up that bag, much less buying it. A FEW might venture a peek just to see, but lots won't.

I didn't appreciate the misleading headline. It left me feeling manipulated & made me less likely to want to open another NYT article. Cut the sensationalist marketing BS when reporting actual news, NYT. It doesn't earn reader confidence, so save it for the entertainment section.

🙄Starting w/an incendiary phrase like "Can women be trusted on abortion?" is CLEARLY a BS sensationalist marketing tactic. Why not something like "Politicians' views on abortion call into question legitimacy of allowing religion to help dictate policy" Informative w/o the hype.

People might actually READ an article with that headline BEFORE getting all bent out of shape & going on a rant. But kicking off with "Can women be trusted on [insert topic]?" is a surefire way to infuriate the vast majority of women. NYT could/should have made a better choice.
