North Korea is scrambling for U.S. dollars and other currency, not just to feed the country’s people but to fund its leader’s military and economic goals. Western goods are sold in dollars illegally at state-run stores, a sign of Kim Jong-un’s desperation. nyti.ms/3hn7gaX

Get real. The amount of USD raised in this small kiosk doesn’t amount to much; a drop in the sea!

Ungrammatical for lack of "and" before "Sony and Canon digital cameras" because "as well as" is not a conjunction, but a phrase that introduces parenthetical items; thus, "A, B as well as C" is not grammatical, whereas "A and B as well as C" is.

How is this a real newspaper? ffs. Love the note about 'isolation', as if like Cuba's it is somehow self-imposed. The DPRK just loves that good old isolationism, and the US has absolutely nothing to do with that 🤦

When a leader does not have the interest of the people at heart...the people now have to fight for their survival
I would bet that N Korea can print dollars to whatever extent they want . It’s not difficult for a nation state to acquire a paper making machine , some cotton , and some linen to create counterfeit dollars that are practically impossible to spot
