Wasn't the early internet and the world wide web all "grappling with the concerns over harassment, misinformation and privacy". Why is the mainstream media so obsessed with ascribing these issues to every new internet platform that emerges when they are all just *extensions*?

because the early internet went largely ignored. Now that folks are using their real names reputation and influence online we need to reconcile the social consequences people used to face for talking shit.

Taking everything into consideration, I still think the free internet is a thousand times better than the alternative (ie even more surveillance and restrictions). Clubhouse’s popularity shows the free internet is still very much in demand.

Funny, no mention of how that NYT "journalist" tried to tattle on one user/investor for using a bad word, and was wrong.
